For Partners & Funders

We are building the system that enables communities to build their own schools.

A school helps one community. A system that builds schools helps thousands. We would value the chance to explore it with you.

The big idea

We've proven the unit of change. Now we're building the platform.

We have proven that our unit of change — a teacher-owned microschool — is impactful and sustainable. Now we are building the platform that turns teachers into school entrepreneurs, and lets thousands of microschools thrive. AI is the catalyst that makes that platform work — for our impact, reach and viability.

Our next horizon: 40 schools by the end of 2026, 200 by 2027, on a path toward 1,000 by 2029 and 10,000 by 2033.

Where we are today

From proof of concept to replication.

11
schools launched and operating — up from 3 at the end of 2025
100%
women — every school owned and run by a female School Entrepreneur
320+
teachers applied for our most recent cohort of places
82
parent NPS — alongside strong learner retention and teacher attendance

These numbers are early, and not yet at the scale the sector expects — we won't pretend otherwise. But the direction of every signal is the same: when parents understand what Duara is, they choose it.

How we grow

A movement, not a network.

At Duara, we naturally come across the word ‘scaling’ a lot — and it takes us back to nature. Nature doesn’t scale; nature spreads organically, like mycelium, seeds or ideas. A network replicates a model; a movement spreads because the idea has life.

It matters to us that Duara grows organically. The need is massive — 450 million children without access to quality education. The demand from teachers is huge — 300+ applications within a few weeks. Each school is a self-sustaining unit of change, and the financial model is regenerative.

Duara’s growth depends on how well we can support teachers to build their schools, through our platform: Can we keep the quality high? Can we lower our cost? Can we learn and get stronger as we grow?

We are building a system that enables communities to build their own schools. If the dream of starting your own school is a seed in every community, then Duara becomes the fertile ground it falls into — making it a movement of change.

Why it works

Four ingredients, working as one.

01

Teachers as entrepreneurs

Trusted owners, not managers — unlocking agency, accountability, community trust and long-term responsibility.

02

A decentralised network

A network of School Entrepreneurs that learns, innovates and improves together — getting stronger with every new school, not through top-down control.

03

An AI-powered back-end

An AI-powered backend of tools and agents, economies of scale and quality guardrails — enabling sustainability without big overhead.

04

Regenerative financing

Duara invests the capital, the school repays it from surplus, the SE becomes the owner — and recovered capital funds the next school.

Why it really works

A human-centred model.

Beneath the mechanics is a simple conviction: people long to belong, to have agency, to be trusted — and to trust. Duara is built on trust over control, connection over transaction, and by community rather than for it. That is what makes it work where centralised models strain.

The Duara
Cycle
01

Invest

Capital launches a school.

02

Grow

It reaches a self-sustaining size.

03

Own

The SE repays and owns it.

04

Recycle

Capital funds the next school.

The regenerative model

Capital that comes back — and builds the next school.

Duara invests the capital to launch a school. The School Entrepreneur repays it from surplus and becomes the owner — and the recovered capital funds the next school.

What AI newly makes possible

A platform that gets smarter as the network grows.

AI isn't a feature on top of the model; it's the catalyst that makes the platform work. A coach for every teacher, a tutor for every learner, a system that turns every classroom signal into a better curriculum — and the automation that lets a lean Hub support a growing collective. It's what makes premium-quality, relational education viable at the lowest-income price points.

Where we're headed

One microschool in every community.

Our vision is two-fold — reach: a microschool in every community, closing the access gap; and breadth: each school transforming its community from within.

Today11 schools open across three counties in Kenya
End of 202640 schools (projected)
2027200 schools (projected)
2029~1,000 schools — and Hub self-sustaining (projected)
203310,000+ schools — one in every community (projected)

Where we're honest

What we're still proving.

Our outcomes data is strong at the scale of our first schools — but not yet validated across hundreds. Standardised assessments are being embedded now. We'd rather show you exactly where the evidence is strong and where it's still being built.

Partners & supporters

In good company.

We're proud to learn alongside, and be supported by, organisations who share the vision.

Let's explore what we could build together.

We work with funders, lenders, foundations and partners who want to back a different kind of education model. We would value the chance to explore this with you.
