Why 'Duara'?

Why is our organisation called Duara?

Duara means 'circle' in Swahili. There are a few reasons why this felt like a wonderful name for our organisation:

We believe that human blossoming is circular, not linear. We continuously learn and unlearn, grow and let go, give and give to and receive from others.
A circle represents the whole - which is essential to learning and human development. Show up as your whole authentic self.
It also stands for a space in which community comes together and everyone is welcome - all backgrounds, ages and paths.
Lastly, it stands for circularity - between the individual, the community and our planet. We need to engage with each other and our environment based on circularity - as a balance of giving and receiving.

Our logo then shows a circular movement - of each individual growing into their own life, in community with others, and the circle of life itself.
